The Library

We’re here to collect, identify, and bring to your attention at least one book every month that your librarians select for you! Bring in your favorites and share them with the chapter.

Trout Bum

Written by John Gierach This one’s a must-read for anyone who loves fly-fishing or just being out on the water. Gierach shares a bunch of funny, honest stories about chasing trout, hanging out with fishing buddies, and finding meaning in the simple stuff. It’s not just about fishing. It’s about slowing down, enjoying the moment, and living the kind of life that feels right.

Undaunted Courage

Written by Stephen E. Ambrose. It is the 1996 accounting of the Lewis and Clark Expedition begun in 1804 to explore America’s wild frontier. Ken Burns, producer of the National Parks documentary, compares the Expedition’s undertaking and completion to putting a man on the moon! It was a remarkable feat. It is a historical account that reads like a novel.

The Feather Thief

Written by Kirk Wallace Johnson. 2018. A true-crime tale. Highly entertaining even if you know nothing about fly fishing or fly tying!
