Program

5 Rivers Program

The Cohutta Chapter sponsors the Georgia Tech 5 Rivers Club and the North Paulding High School Fly Fishing and Cold Water Conservation Club. The North Paulding was the first 5 Rivers Club in the Southeast and it remains the only High School Club recognized by Trout Unlimited.

Students are taught how to cast fly rods, tie fly’s, proper use and maintenance of equipment, and of course they go fishing several times during the school year. They also work on environmental projects such as building and installing Wood Duck Nest Boxes, Steam Projects, and assisting DNR with Stocking. This unique program develops the next generation of Cold Water Conservationist.
