Stream Work Days for 2019
March 9: Raccoon Creek. Raccoon Creek in Paulding County is our conservation stream. We’re the lead chapter on this one. Join fellow Cohutta 242 members and volunteers from the Coosa Valley Chapter to groom footpaths alongside the creek and tackle other tasks as needed.
April 6: Sweep the Hooch. Metro Atlanta is home to many TU members, and a river runs through it—the Chattahoochee. Join volunteers from our chapter alongside other volunteers from the Upper Chattahoochee, Middle Georgia, Oconee River and Tailwater chapters to clean debris and trash from the Chattahoochee in the annual one-day spring blitz known as “Sweep the Hooch.”
April 13: Rock Creek. Join members from our chapter and work beside other volunteers from the Coosa Valley, Gold Rush, Chattahoochee Nantahala and Tailwater chapters to create a new stream structure on Rock Creek in Murray County.
July 13: Lovinggood Creek. Remote, beautiful Lovinggood is a perennial favorite project. Join fellow Cohutta Chapter members and members from the Gold Rush, Chattahoochee Nantahala and Tailwater chapters to build and/or maintain structures in this Fannin County tributary of the Noontootla.
